New York – Not long after stating that remarks made by rapper Kanye West following Hurricane Katrina, insinuating that then President George Bush was a racist, marked one of the lowest points of his presidency, Bush has stated that he forgives West for the comments. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), West offered a rapprochement for the comments Wednesday stating he spoke them out of frustration.

West is quoted by the AP as stating in an interview with the “Today” show, “I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist… I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that we as human beings don't always choose the right words.”

Bush is quoted as stating in response to West’s recent comments, “I'm not a hater… I don't hate Kanye West. I was talking about an environment in which people were willing to say things that hurt. Nobody wants to be called a racist if in your heart you believe in equality of races.”
