Fatal accidents with teen drivers declines

Atlanta – The number of fatal automobile accidents involving teen drivers has reportedly declined. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), experts say that tougher laws and advancements in the safety of cars have made it safer on the road.

As noted in the report, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated in a recent report that the number of deaths connected to accidents involving teen drivers fell approximately one third in five years.

Russ Rader, a spokesman for the Arlington, Va.-based research group Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, is quoted by the AP as stating of the causes for the decline, “It's not that teens are becoming safer…It's that state laws enacted in the last 15 years are taking teens out of the most hazardous driving situations.”
