GOP criticized for not showing black candidates support

U.S. – Black GOP candidates are speaking out about the purported lack of support shown by national party leaders in their efforts to get elected. As reported by CQ Politics, three Republican African American candidates seeking seats in the house recently asserted that their party has failed to stand behind them.

Lisa Creeden, campaign manager for Chuck Smith of Virginia, is quoted in the report as stating of the issue, “I think the Republican Party is going to damage themselves with the African-American community… I understand part of it is they are focused on races they can win easily, but our point is we couldn't necessarily win this easily, but we can still win it. The effort to reach out to the African-American community will pay out in future elections.”
